Google Photos Album of City Walk 2017

Barcelona, Spain 2017 - 04

Just a little wrap up. I'm safely at home after a very long flying day. Here are a last couple of thoughts on the trip. The complete photo album is here. If you don't have the Google Photos app, yet... what are you doing? It is pretty awesome. Also, you could have been getting notified whenever the album had new photos added to it, like Brad and Anwyn :) Finally, I've put all my hand-written  journal pages into their own album and added page numbers. I had no idea that there would be so many when I started. Thanks for coming to Barcelona. Feel free to call me to talk about it, or just throw some questions or comments down below.

Sorry for the delay. I've been displaying good judgement and going to sleep before 1 A.M. Tough to live a life and blog it all in the 24 hrs. they give you ;)

Here is your second instalment of my "Daddy/Daughter" trip to Barcelona with Anwyn. The photo archive continues to grow. However, there is a lag in my uploads (I blame 30 Megapixel photos and 3rd-rate WiFi), so you won't have access to everything for an indeterminate period of time. Mik

I may have finally figured out my issues trying to use Blogger on my iPad. Maybe. It's still going to be a pain... never mind. While I was having these technical problems, I started journaling on my iPad Pro with my Apple Pencil. It feels like a much more organic way to do it. Strange, considering the amount of tech involved. Huh, I think that is actual IRONY. So rare ;) I wanted to try it out on you and see what you think. I realize that it will be harder to read for at least 2 reasons. Either you are reading on a mobile phone, which will make these images hard to read, or you are reading on a large monitor (recommended), but you can't read my shitty handwriting. I am sorry for both of those, but give it a try... for now. If that isn't going to work for you, perhaps you can just look at the pretty pictures . There are nearly 200 so far.

1001 Albums Project

Image
My winter walks provide plenty of time for music listening... If you recall , I started my 1001 Albums project last year, in March. It is inspired by a reading of 1001 Albums you Must Read Before You Die . At the time, I was only 30 albums along. I can recall thinking that I might finish within a year (if I went all out). That didn't work out. I was on track, but I completely stalled out once summer was over. I have not done an exact count, but the lists below (which I finished in early September) comprise about 470 albums totaling approximately 350 hours of music. Find it. Listen to it. As you may imagine, it has been an intense and wonderful experience. Having something to share with my teenagers is enough all by itself, and it has been so much more than that. I sent Leora playlist #10 this week. Even though we text a few times a week and talk most weekends, it has been hard having her away at Mt. Allison. You may recall some of my emotional state . Apple AirPods: Little things that matter to me

Image
Added some gears to reduce the "dental floss" effect. Doesn't help much, but I like it anyway :) I've had my AirPods for nearly 3 weeks now. Like everyone else on the Tech-inter-sphere, I wanted to fire off a review the day I got them. They were so shiny and new. But, at the same time, I know the perils of doing that. First impressions are great but, when you have spent $250CAD, there is a tendency to want to immediately feel that you didn't waste your money... regardless of reality. So, I've let the newness sink in and the everyday experience surface. I am not interested or motivated in you getting AirPods or any Apple product. I don't like to see people waste money on something they don't love, and I am invested in sharing my experience. Much of the information is going to be useful to anyone who has trouble with wearing earbuds. Just remember that any comments that involve ease of set up, or use of voice controls tend to rely on the Apple ec
